Publishing GMB Posts

Create one GMB post for all locations and publish in real-time.

The Create Post function allows you build posts for one or many locations and immediately publish to connected GMB pages.

Posting requires credentials or a connection set up for the selected location(s).

Role permissions for Publish/Unpublish under LISTING MANAGEMENT > Profiles are required to publish GMB posts.

To create a new GMB post:

  1. Click the left navigation bar (+) Create New button and choose Social Post.
  2. In the Create Post page, complete the following sections:

    Publish To

The channel on which to post the content. Google My Business is the only option and is selected by default.

For additional publishing sources, reach out to your Account Executive or Customer Success Manager to discuss upgrading to the Social Suite.

    Choose Location

Select the location(s) to associate with the post.

    • Click the plus (+) icon to apply filters and narrow down which locations to associate with the post.
    • Icons indicate which locations do not have a GMB page connected and which are ready to publish.
    • If a selected location does not have all selected sites connected, those sites will not publish. The preview pane does not show previews for all locations.

Google reserves the right to limit GMB Posts for certain brands. Overall, most GMB locations should have access to GMB posts, especially as they relate to COVID-19.

    Compose Message

Insert a template or type the message to be shared.

    • GMB character limit = 1500
    • If you add a link to your post, highlight the text to link in the Compose message box and click Add link to confirm the destination.
    • Additional post options include:
      • COVID-19 Alert Post: Let customers know about any changes to your business due to COVID-19. Learn more COVID-19 posts from Google.
      • Event Post: Add an event title, start date and time, and end date and time. Events must be a minimum of one hour from the time of posting. An event will post will show for as long as the event is active.
      • Add a Button: Add a call to action button to your post. Options include: Book, Order Online, Shop, Learn More, Sign Up, Call.

    Select Media

Upload media by dragging an image onto the post page or by clicking Attach file.
