Best Practices for Importing Users

You can send data to our Technical Support Team to add new users to the platform in bulk! The data must be in CSV format and have the following headers. Required fields are shown in orange:

Download Starter Template

  • user-id – Created by the platform. You would only provide the user-id if you needed to update an existing user.
  • external-id – Created by the platform.
  • email
  • phone
  • active
  • notify – For a welcome email to be sent. Needs TRUE or FALSE.
  • first-name
  • last-name
  • role – The name of the role to apply. Multiple roles must be separated by “|” pipe or vertical bar, with no spaces.
  • authorize-by – The filter used to authorize location access. Default is “location.”
  • authorize-by-values – For more than one location or piece of data for this field. Each location code must be separated by “|” pipe or vertical bar, with no spaces)
  • locale – The default language set to apply. The locale field will always be en_US for all users based in the United States.
